The Shangri-Las / Past, Present and Future

 

15-16세였던 Andrew Jackon High School 시절부터 Margie Ganser, Mary Ann Ganser, Betty Weiss 그리고  Mary Weiss의 4자매로 결성하여 활동하였으나 1970년 Margie와 쌍둥이였던 Mary Ann Ganser의 사망으로 그후 3명으로 활동함. 1964년 Remember (Walking in the Sand)로 데뷰하여 Leader of the Pack(1964), I Can Never Go Home Anymore(1965) 그리고 Beethovan의 월광곡을 배경음악으로 한 Talk Song으로 유명한 Past, Present & Future(1966)등의 히트곡을 발표함   Past: Past well, now let me tell you about the past Past is filled with silent joys and broken toys, Laughing girls and teasing boys, Was I ever in love? I called it love. I mean, it felt like love. There were moments when... Well, there were moments when. Present: Go out with you? Why not? Do I like to dance? Of course. Take a walk along the beach tonight? I'd love to. But don't try to touch me, don't try to touch me Cause that will never happen again Shall we dance? The Future: Tomorrow? Well, tomorrow's a long way off, Maybe someday I'll hold somebody's hand, Maybe somewhere, someone will understand. You know, I used to sing A tisket a tasket a green and yellow basket. I'm all packed up and I'm on my way, I'm going to fall in love But at the moment, it doesn't look good, At the moment, it'll never happen again. I don't think it will ever happen again.
