The Byrds / Turn! Turn! Turn! (1965년 빌보드 핫챠트 1위곡 )

 

Turn, Turn, Turn은 Pete Seeger가 구약성서 전도서(Book of Ecclesiastes) 제3장의

구절을 이용해 만든 곡으로

1962년 The Limeliters에 의해 처음 발표되었고 같은해 몇개월후 Pete Seeger도  직접 발표하였다.

1963년에는 Judy Collins가 그리고 Marlene Dietrich가 각각 커버하였고

1965년에는 The Byrds가 Folk Rock 스타일로 편곡  발표해 빌보드 핫챠트 1위에 오르며

가장 성공한 버전이 되었다.

1966년에는 The Seekers, 1969년에는 Nina Simone등 이 커버하였고 그외에도 여러 가수들이

발표하였는데 그중 가장 인기를 누렸던 그리고 내가 가장 좋아하는 Byrds의 

Forrest Gump에 삽입되었던  버전을 대표곡으로 소개하고 그외 몇개의 버전을 소개합니다.
