'Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire'라는 부제를 갖고있는 The Christmas Song은
1944년 싱어/송라이터인  Mel Tormé와 Bob Wells가 작곡하여 1946년 The Nat King Cole
Trio에 의해 처음 발표되었고 그후1953년  Nelson Riddle 악단의 반주, 그리고 1961년에는  
Ralph Carmichael악단의 반주로  Nat King Cole의 솔로버젼으로 다시 발표되었다. 
Mel Tormé는 1954년 직접 취입하였고 그후 수많은 가수들에 의해 발표되었으며
 Ray Charles의 버젼은 영화 'Love Affair' 에 삽입되어 많은 사랑을 받았다.

Although its been said many times, many ways,
