1940년생인 Anita Bryant는 1958년 Miss Oklahoma,  
1959년  Miss America (3위)에 선발된 미인대회 출신으로 1959년 가수로 데뷰하였음. 
Paper Roses는 Fred Speilman과 Janice Torre 작사 작곡으로 Anita Bryant에 의해

1960년 발표되어 1961년 빌보드 챠트 5위에 오른 곡임.
