이어 이번에는 Chris de Burgh의 Snows of New York를 소개한다.

이곡은 물론 Footprints in the Sand와는 다른 곡이지만 같이 소개하는 이유는

이미 소개한 2곡의 곡들이 주님과의 관계를 설명하는 내용이라면 이곡은

친구와의 우정을 노래하는 곡으로 4절 가사에(아래 동영상 1분 30초 부근)

Footprints in the Sand의 내용이 인용되는 것을 보면 그곡에서 아이디어를

얻어 만들어진 곡이 아닐까 생각되기 때문이다.

Chris de Burgh / Snows of New York (1994)

Chris de Burgh와 Albert Hammond의 곡으로 1994년 발표되었다.

 

Chris de Burgh는 영국의 외교관이었던 부모 슬하에서 1948년 Argentina에서 본명 

Christopher John de Burgh Davison로 태어난 Irish계 영국 Singer/Songwriter이다.

 

우수에 가득찬 발라드에 호소력 짙은 음색을 지닌 영국 신사 Chris de Burgh.
포크와 심포닉적인 아트락, 컨셉위주로 앨범을 발표하여 대중들에겐 큰 호응은

못받았지만 평론가들로부터 극찬을 받은 아티스트중의 하나이다.
그는 1974년 레코딩 계약을 맺고 1974년 데뷰곡 Hold on을 발표하였으며

1975년에 데뷔 앨범 [Far Beyond These Castle Walls]를 발표했다.
