Jona Lewie / Stop The Cavalry

 

흥겹고 재미있는 크리스마스 송 한곡을 소개합니다. 1947년 영국 태생의 싱거/송라이터인 Jona Lewie가 작사 작곡하여 부른 Stop The Cavalry로 1980년 크리스마스때 영국에서 챠트 3위에 올랐던 곡입니다. 당초 크리스마스 송으로 만들어진 것은 아니지만 가사 내용과 히트한 시점이 80년 크리스마스 때로서 그후에도 성탄때에 많은 이들이 즐겨 듣는 곡이 되었다 합니다. Hugo Alfvén의 Swedish Rhapsody No. 1 에서 모티브를 따온 곡으로 한편으로는 Mozart의 Rondo in D Major를 연상 시키는 곡으로 흥겨운 비트와 '더버더버덤' 하는 후렴 그리고 브래스밴드의 개성있는 반주가 매력적인 색다른 크리스마스 송입니다.
