매년 년초가 되면 ABBA의 Happy New Year와 함께 가장 자주 소개되는 곡이 U2의 New Years Day가 아닐까?

 

U2는 1976년 아일랜드에서 Bono (본명 Paul Hewson,  vocals and guitar), The Edge (본명 David Evans,

guitar, keyboards, and vocals), Adam Clayton (bass guitar), 그리고 Larry Mullen, Jr. (drums & percussion)로

결성된 락 그룹으로 총 1980년 데뷰앨범  Boy를 포함하여 총12장의 스튜디오 정규앨범을 발표하며 총 1억5천만장 이상의

음반 매출을 올린 세계적인 아티스트이다.

또한 총 22회에 걸쳐 Grammy Awards를 수상하였고 2006년 락앤롤 명예의 전당(Rock and Roll Hall of Fame)에

 헌정되었으며 Rolling Stone가 선정한 사상 최고의 100대 아티스트중 22위로 선정되었다.
