팝 반세기사 / 1968년 28위- Angel of the Morning

1968년 베스트 28위  Merrilee Rush / Angel of the Morning 1944년 미국 Washington주 Seattle에서 본명 Merrilee Gunst로태어난  가수로  락앤롤 그룹인 Amazing Aztecs의 싱거로 활동을 시작하였다. 그후 그룹의 리더인 Neil Rush와 결혼하여 Merrilee and Her Men을 결성하였으며 1965년에는 Merrilee Rush & the Turnabouts를결성하여 Angel of the Morning을 발표하며 유명세를 타게되었다.    Merrilee Rush / Angel of the Morning  Chip Taylor가 작사 작곡한 곡으로 1967년 Evie Sands에 의해 처음 발표되었으나 소속사이던 Cameo-Parkway Records사의 재정 위기로 마케팅이 되지 않아 히트를 못했고 다음해 Merrilee Rush에 의해 발표되어 빌보드챠트 7위에 올랐다. 1981년에는  Juice Newton이 다시 커버하여 빌보드 챠트 4위에 올렸고 그외에도 Nina Simone, Olivia Newton-John, Dusty Springfield,  Bonnie Tyler,  The New Seekers Skeeter Davis등 여러 가수들에 의해 발표되었다.
