Freddy Fender (본명 Baldemar Garza Huerta, 1937 – 2006)

 

미국 텍사스주 출신으로 어린시절 멕시칸 전통음악을 연주하다 컨츄리 가수로 전향하였고

1960년 'Wasted Days and Wasted Nights'가 전국적인 히트를 하였다.

 'Before The Next Teardrop Falls'는 Vivian Keith and Ben Peters의 곡으로 1968년

컨츄리 가수 Duane Dee에 의해 처음 발표되어 빌보드 컨츄리 챠트 44위에 올렸고

1974년에 Freddy Fender에 의해 커버되어 1975년 빌보드 팝과 컨츄리 챠트

공히 1위에 오르며 세계적인 명성을 얻게되었다.
